How to Gain The Nutritious Benefits of Juicing

By Will Ramu

Honestly: juicing has certain benefits and properties that can really help your health. Of course there are a few fruits and vegetables, that when juiced, can have harmful properties too. This happens because some foods will contain higher amounts of pesticide residue than others. It's why you should work to learn as much as you are able about juicing, especially when you're just starting out.

There are some juicing best practices that you may want to learn. One of the most important things to learn is just how fast a fresh juice (or any juice) can spoil. So it's important, then, that you avoid leaving it out in the open air for any extended period. Obviously you want to put any of your left over juicing prep materials into the fridge. It is far better, however, to only juice what you actually want to drink right away. That's a good rule of thumb to follow but it's not always possible for various reasons. When you make certain types of juices you can count on having pulp or skin leftovers. This is worth eating after you've scooped it out because it has lots of nutrients packed into it. There are some who think that they only need to toss some water into their juicer or blender and then tap it two times (or three). Then they can simply drink that because it will have some good things and some good nutrients in it.

If you wanted to think about juicing in a single word, it would have to be efficiency - maybe. You can chalk this up to personal opinion but it is really hard to argue with efficiency. When it comes to juicing and cooking you are going to need to clean up after both activities. Consider, though, that you can prepare a healthy juice drink for your breakfast meal. And then, you can drink it on the way to work, or whatever. If this is what you want to do, pick out your ingredients carefully because your stomach is going to be empty. You might want to think twice about juicing together ingredients that will be harsh against your stomach in the beginning of the day. Sure it is going to wake you up but it's better to pick ingredients that are gentle for your stomach.

For very many years (decades) there's been an issue with chemical contaminants (pesticides) in the food we eat. Some people will insist that they are safe to consume; do not believe those people. These things are well known for chemical contaminants and you should avoid them. No matter how you want to eat them, wash them as best you can whether or not you juice them.

There isn't really any way to know for sure how many nutrients are consumed when you compare juicing to cooking foods. The compromising of the digestive system is, however, something that people can tell and know. There are lots of factors that go into this process, and they all slow down our metabolism. One of the arguments made by proponents of juicing is that it's an effective work-around. You can easily see this because the nutrients will be in the juice. It's definitely different than a whole food but it still is digested. Of course, digesting juices is usually a lot better and much easier than whole foods for most people. Most people do not see the cooking and eating of vegetables as anything fun. It does not take long, though, for people who juice to find the process fun. This probably seems really unusual to you, especially since you are probably not someone who regularly incorporates juicing into your diet. It's a really great and powerful method of adding some much needed dimensions to your daily food intake.
