This substance has for long been accepted as a fat loss product. But does it work? And if so, how does it work?
Does caffeine increase fat burn? And how does caffeine increase fat burn? These are some of the questions that I will answer throughout this post.
First of, I need to inform you, that it has not been entirely proven how much caffeine increases fat burn. If you Google caffeine effects, or read a book, you will find hundred or thousand studies showing upsides and downsides of caffeine. Results keep changing, but here are some main effects of caffeine, that are widely accepted as boosting your fat burning system:
Caffeine will "kick start" your fat burning metabolism
Boosts thermogenesis
Caffeine will increase your energy, in other words, make you feel more awake
Fluid loss
Caffeine boosts your fat metabolism, by stimulating the process where the body releases free fatty acids into your bloodstream. The body does this, when it is breaking down fat cells, to use for energy. This process is called lipolysis.
Caffeine has been thought to boost the thermogenesis of the body, which is the process where the body burns calories to generate heat.
The most supported effect of caffeine, which also is the main reason people drink coffee every day, is that it gives you more energy, and makes you more aware. Caffeine is a stimulant, which decreases the signals, that tell your body that it is tiered. By in taking caffeine, you might be able to increase the effectiveness of your workout, and gives you the possibility to do it optimal. If you have energy to take one more rep, or lift a little more or maybe run one mile more, then caffeine is both a muscle booster and a fat burner.
Many people will have noticed, that they pee more frequently when drinking high caffeinated beverages. This is because caffeine can be "dehydrating". How ever, it is important to know, that you do not lose more fluids than you gain from one cup of coffee.
Where can you get your caffeine? Well there are various sources of caffeine. The most famous ones are:
Coffee-beans (coffee)
Green-Tea
Energy Drinks, such as Redbull and Monster and many more
Sodas
Dietary Pills
The most normal way of getting caffeine is with the ordinary black coffee. There is a lot of difference between instant coffee, brewed coffee and coffee beans, which are grinded, then brewed.
Another great caffeine source, is Green tea. This is a very popular brew to the people, which don't like coffee very much. There are other teas that contain caffeine as well, but Green tea contains the most.
It is quite normal to see a person walk around in the gym with a Red Bull or some other energy drink. These are great sources to caffeine, but they contain a lot of sugars as well, so they are not good for fat loss.
Properly the worst source for caffeine are sodas. High on sugars and other substances, this is everything but the perfect fat loss product.
A very popular caffeine source for fat loss is dietary pills. It is very easy to just take one pill, and you have the amount of caffeine similar to a cup of coffee or other beverage. Dietary pills are great since you are sure you will not get any extra calories. However you must be sure that the brand is recognized, and all the substances are safe.
So to conclude. Caffeine can assist you on your journey to a slim waist. However, and I can't stress this enough, caffeine will not make you lose weight if your diet and exercise aren't up to par. With the right diet, and enough exercise, caffeine can most definably boost your body's ability to burn fat.
