Scientists have been working on improving drug delivery to different parts of the body. Delivery vehicles used in this case have different structures and design. The search for a mechanism to deliver the drugs to a specific area has favored the use liposome. The features that scientists are looking for include specificity with receptors, higher payload, stealth mode operation to enhance its circulatory lifetime, less harmful side effects, efficacy and better uptake.
