Back in our childhood days, many if not all were always reminded by parents to eat veggies to stay strong and healthy.

Let's face it, some vegetables just don't taste good. Of course it depends on the person since taste vary with individuals.

Most of us know that vegetables are good for you. They contain vitamins, essential minerals, and fiber which is necessary for a healthy diet. They also vary in texture and color.

Although there are many good supplements which provide these essential vitamins and minerals, we know that nature tends to provide what we need in just the right amounts and combinations that our body can easily digest. Knowing this, we want our children to eat vegetables. The main question however is how you can go about making your children eat vegetables.

One good idea, is to feed them the vegetables that taste good, and find ways to modify the vegetables they don't seem to like. Sugar can be added to their meal to have a sweeter taste and add squash for the soft and smooth taste. You might saute carrots in butter and other flavors such as garlic and, which modifies the taste and makes them more palatable. You can opt for cauliflowers or broccoli since these vegetables are palatable for children when sauted or cooked with various sauces. If you're looking to hide the not-so-good taste of the vegetable, you can simply opt for these styles of cooking..

A lot of vegetables however taste better when they are left as they are and not cooked. There's probably a reason how these vegetables taste how they are. Many a kid is gone out in the garden with a salt shaker and eat the tomatoes right off the vine. Depending on how they're grown, carrots have a delightful sweet taste when eat raw. This is not the case with most tuber type vegetables like rutabagas and turnips.

Like potatoes and squash, these can be prepared with butter or other seasoning and taste is not bad.

If you're going to cook vegetables, it's better to saute them rather than boil them. If you choose to saute your vegetable, you'll have a better taste and the essential vitamins and minerals will retain. If you prepare them out then Al Dente, they are firm to the bite and taste more like their natural state.

Compared to all other foods, vegetables remain the best since they posses the most nutrient, mineral and vitamin content. Kids don't always like vegetables due to their unlikely taste however if you can mask the taste with a taste that they love then you'll sure to feed them with any vegetable. If you do, you'll be providing your kids with all the health benefits that they need.
